In recognition of the ongoing efforts made by Synergy Roofing to make sure it’s employees in the industry remain as safe and healthy as possible, the NFRC – National Federation of Roofing Contractors – have awarded Synergy Roofing the Gold Excellence in Health and Safety in the 2015 Safety in Roofing Awards Scheme.

 

 NFRC, The National Federation of Roofing Contractors Limited (NFRC) has established itself as the leading roofing trade association in the United Kingdom. With seven regions, over 1000 trade contractors and 173 Supplier Members (manufacturers, suppliers and service providers), NFRC represents over 70% of the roofing industry.

Only suppliers and contractors that can attain and maintain these high standards will gain admission to the approved NFRC supplier database. Working closely with a number of other specialist trade associations to ensure one voice for the roofing industry.

NFRC actively ensures that members offer high standards of workmanship and sound business practice through a strict code of practice and independent vetting procedure, including site inspections and adhering to the Government-endorsed TrustMark standards.

All NFRC trade members hold comprehensive insurance cover and insurance-backed warranties are available.

Competent Roofer is the government-licenced Competent Person Scheme that allows professional roofing contractors to self-certify that their roof refurbishment work complies with Building Regulations within England and Wales.

If you require  roof refurbishment, that means more that 50% of you roof needs replacing, then under Building Regulations your Local Authority Building Control need to be notified a minimum of 48 hours before work commences. If you don’t then you risk a fine of £5000, plus the cost of putting the work right if it doesn’t meet the standards of the Building Regulations.

CHAS Synergy Roofing has been awarded the widely recognised CHAS accreditation in recognition of it’s commitment to the health and safety of all it’s staff.

CHAS (Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme) is rapidly becoming a construction industry standard which allows buyers to measure H&S standards fairly and consistently across a range of companies working in allied but often dissimilar trades.

The aim of the scheme is to improve health and safety standards across the construction industry sector and to alleviate some of the inevitable duplication that exists when completing tender applications.

Major construction industry buyers such as Local Councils, NHS trusts, housing associations and increasingly private organisations who participate in the system can now logon to a single database and check the current status of all potential suppliers.

CHAS accreditation is increasingly often requested by the countries major construction companies as it allows an uninterrupted transparency in the lengthy chain of the pre-qualification system.
